ONLINE THERAPY

I offer online therapy (also called telemedicine) through Simple Practice. Simple Practice is HIPAA compliant, encrypted, and works well on most computers and operating systems. Using Simple Practice is very easy. To enhance the efficiency of Simple Practice, a high-speed Internet connection is recommended.

Advantages

  • Distance is a non-issue
  • Sessions fit easily into a busy schedule
  • Sessions are possible while traveling
  • Therapy is accessible if you are homebound

*It is important to note that I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. Therefore, I may only conduct online therapy with clients who reside in California.

Disadvantages

While online therapy offers many advantages, there are also some drawbacks to online therapy, such as the possible disruption of therapy due to technical difficulties.

Getting Started

Please express your interest for online therapy via email. An initial free phone consultation (thirty minutes approximately) will be scheduled. Before online therapy can begin, it is necessary to complete and mail the Consent to Treatment Form, Telemedicine Consent Form and the Intake Form.

Online Isn't Right for Everyone

Clients who are experiencing suicidal ideation, or have attempted suicide in the past, may not be the ideal candidate for online therapy due the fact that more complete care is necessary to manage the presenting symptoms.
